Melbourne Park Redevelopment

This exciting large precinct masterplan is now coming into fruition, having started with rainwater catchment in 2011 and now the construction of Eastern Plaza, inclusive of player facilities, new practise courts, public plaza and bridge connection to AAMI Park. The next phase of development is the Western Precinct inclusive of a completely new building encompassing Margaret Court Arena together with an upgraded Rod Laver Arena.

Scharp produced the visualisation marketing collateral for the entire masterplan which has just been released to the news media and general public in line with the latest Australian Tennis Open 2012. We have been involved since its inception early 2009 when the masterplan for the tennis precinct was released by Cox and Populous.

Working with a great team on the two new precincts has lead to the completion of the many renderings, photomontages and fly-throughs showcasing what the Western precinct and Eastern Plaza will actually look like in the midst of the proposed masterplan.

With less than three weeks to produce a 3D animation for this size of project at such great quality was extraordinary. Scharp Design managed to quickly adjust the 3D model seamlessly throughout the whole process, whilst also managing to update further requests the week following their delivery.
